Jasper stone can transform a cat-shaped brooch into a special jewel, with its hundred shades able to capture distracted eyes as well as those of beauty lovers. All this is furtherly true if additional attention is paid on cats. Like our Ughina, a faithful friend with a tortoiseshell fur coat resembling jasper.

We didn't choose this stone - a quartz-based mineral with iron particles that give it its special color - by chance. We wanted to enclose in this brooch the characteristics of a unique cat: a little moody but always loving to everyone.

Every single jewel is inspired by a cat whose personality and compelling story has left a sign on the life of Maria Alberino, the designer who passionately guides her goldsmiths to the creation of these works of art.

For instance, Martin, her first cat, has a shy and possessive personality; but we can also mention the free spirited Wendy and the reckless Milly, named after Albert Einstein’s wife. In our jewels there is always a story to tell.

Part of the profits will be donated to I MIGLIORI AMICI, an Association which takes care of the island’s cat colonies.
